Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had been visiting Gujarat quite frequently as the state is awaiting Assembly elections in this December. It has been alleged that during his recent visit, he had taken a chartered flight. BJP supporters as well as some Congress members use this viral picture to make this claim that Kejriwal indeed took a private jet. Some even tagged the Enforcement Directorate in twitter and asked to look into the matter.

BJP member Wasim R Khan who is a Mumbai Minority Morcha Member questioned what happened to Kejriwal’s promise that he won’t take a car or a bungalow or security.
What’s the truth?
We reverse searched the image and found that it was posted on Instagram around 3 months ago by an user named Kanika Prabhakar Deb. This picture has now been deleted. We have an archived version of the photo here.
The bio of Instagram profile mentions that the user is a “VIP Flight Attendant”. The profile also has pictures with some of the biggest South Indian stars such as Ajith Kumar, Junior NTR and Director Rajamouli. The list also includes Hindi actress Alia Bhatt among other celebrities.

Though we were not able to ascertain when the VIP Flight attendant took the picture was taken, we can be sure that the viral picture was not taken during his recent visit to Gujarat since it was uploaded on Instagram 3 months ago.
It is important to note that fake news about a picture of Modi being on the wall of the auto driver’s home to which Arvind Kejriwal visited during the same Gujarat trip in which he is accused of taking a private jet.
Conclusion
The viral image is old and it was taken some time before 3 months ago. Although Arvind Kejriwal had indeed taken the Private jet, we are not able to ascertain exactly when the image was taken. But, it was surely not taken during Kejriwal’s recent visit to Gujarat as alleged by BJP members.
