An image of a massive crowd with some of them holding a passport in their hand is shared with the claim that all those who have passport in Pakistan are trying to run away from the country. It is mentioned that there has been a stampede to get a visa to flee abroad. It is also mentioned that Pakistan will not survive if IMF does not provide loan to Pakistan and that Modi who is sitting in Delhi has played without firing a single bullet.
What is the truth?
When searching the viral image with Google lens, it is found that the image is old and unrelated to Pakistan. Reuters website is found carrying the viral picture with the title ‘Afghans jostling for visas to Pakistan spark stampede, killing 15’. This page contains a set of images out of which one is the viral image that the social media users claimed as Pakistan.
This particular image is captioned ‘Afghan men wait to collect tokens needed to apply for the Pakistan visa, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan October 21, 2020’. The Alamy website is found carrying the viral image quoting Reuters as the image source. The same image is also found on Reuters‘ Twitter page.
The Reuters Twitter page also posted a video from the incident in October 2020 mentioning “At least 15 Afghans were killed in a stampede that occurred in an open ground where thousands of Afghans had gathered to secure visas from the Pakistan consulate in eastern Afghanistan, officials said”.

It is found that the viral image claimed as a stampede in Pakistan to get a visa to flee abroad is fake. The image is from October 2020 when Afghans gathered to get visas from the Pakistan consulate in Afghanistan.
