One such claim that says that the video shows the real behaviour of the protesters from the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar is viral. The post is shared with the hashtag ‘AandolanJeevi’ which means ‘professional protesters’ whose major work is to protest. What is the truth?
The text in the viral video is translated as “Dastar Training Camp. Veer Sidhu Moose Wale’s last prayer”. Sidhu Moose Wala, an Indo-Canadian rapper and singer who worked predominantly in Punjab music and cinema was killed in 2022.
He joined the Congress party before the Punjab assembly elections. And was shot dead by unidentified persons while riding in a jeep in Jawaharke, Mansa district of Punjab, on May 29, 2022. The police told that the murder is the result of gang rivalry. It has been reported in the news that Canada-based Goldy Brar, an associate of Punjab’s Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder.
Hindustan Times reported that thousands came together to pay the last tribute to their favourite singer on 8, June 2022 in an article on “Sidhu Moose Wala’s Antim Ardas”. A hoarding that is seen in an image published in this article is also seen in the viral video.
In addition to it, The Quint reported in its news video that his supporters had set up several lankars near the venue of the Ardas. The visuals also show people helping others to wear turbans. The above-mentioned hoarding is also seen in the video.

It is found that an old video from 2022 captured in a ‘turban lankar’ during Sidhu Moose Wala’s Antim Ardas is shared to falsely claim that Muslim men or ‘Aandolan Jeevi’ are seen in the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar.
