What is the truth?
When searching for the results of Gulbarga Uttar, Karnataka, we found that Kaneez Fatima, Congress won the seat with 45.28% of votes.
The viral video was found published on the ‘TV 9 Bangla Live’ Youtube channel on 27, February 2022 with the title ‘WB Municipal Election 2022’.
The tweets dated 28, February 2022 from the Twitter account ‘Bengal Congress – New Generation’ and the verified account of ‘West Bengal Congress’ are found carrying the picture from the viral video with the hashtag ‘TMC loots vote’ and captioned as ‘See how Chappa is voting! The state’s democracy is in danger today. Let’s raise our voice together against it.’
With further searching, the ‘BJP Bengal’ Twitter account having the viral video posted on 27, February 2022 is found.

The same visuals are found in the ‘Khabor 24*7’ article dated 27, February 2022 with the title roughly translated as ‘Chappa Voting is going on in Ward No. 33 of South Dum Dum, Photo of Development under Trinamool Voting in Bengal’.
The Facebook page ‘CPIM West Bengal’ published the viral video on 27, February 2022 with the caption (roughly translated) ‘Voting for the development of South Dum Dum Municipality is going on. Booth No. 108, Ward No. 33. # Let the commission’.
The same video was earlier shared with different claims. Youturn fact-checked and published an article on the same in Tamil in March 2022 and English in December 2022.
Conclusion
A video taken during the West Bengal Municipality election in February 2022 is falsely shared as a recent video captured during fake voting by a person from the Congress party in Karnataka’s Gulbarga Uttar.
