The state of Gujarat’s Legislative Assembly elections are just a couple of weeks away. At this juncture, this video was shared by Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s Social Media Krishan in Twitter with a claim that this video was taken in Gujarat. The video shows several BJP cadres drinking alcohol and the video is purportedly to be taken in Gujarat, which is a dry state or a state with a ban on sale of alcohol.

What’s the truth?
When we did a keyword search, we found that the video had been around for at least more than a year. The video was virally shared in July 2022 and most notably Prashant Bhushan had also shared the video and claimed that the video was taken in Telangana.

In further search, the video was also shared by Uttar Pradesh Congress in its twitter handle in December 2021 with a claim that it was taken in Uttar Pradesh.

However, we were not able to definitively find the place, time, or the origin of the video. But we can safely conclude that the video is not taken recently in the poll bound state of Gujarat.
Conclusion
Though the video is real, we were not able to find the exact date and time when it was taken. But the video has been around for at least a year with claims that they are from Uttar Pradesh and Telangana in the past before being claimed to be from Gujarat.
