During this time a viral video purporting and claiming that African-Americans robbed a Nike store in Los Angeles on Black Friday.

What is the truth?

We ran a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video and found that the original version of the viral video was posted on the Buzz News YouTube channel on 31, May 2020. The video caption says ‘NIKE store broken into and completely looted’.

The same incident was covered by NBC Chicago on May 30, 2020. According to the article, the angry mob vandalized all the stores at Michigan Avenue, Chicago, while protesting for George Floyd’s murder in 2020.

George Floyd was an African-American man murdered by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA during an arrest made after a store clerk suspected Floyd may have used a fraudulent twenty-dollar bill on May 25, 2020.

Therefore, based on the available information it is clarified that this viral video is three years old and it has no link to the recent Black Friday Sale.

Conclusion

This 3-year-old video of people looting the Nike store when Floyd was murdered is falsely shared as a recent Black Friday sale.
