What is the truth?
When reverse-searching the image with Google Lens, we found that the image is not only old but also edited.
Times Now News article dated 21, October 2021 is found featuring the original photo mentioning that the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving thumbs up to healthcare workers at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi has gone viral on social media. The photo is credited to ANI.
ANI tweet is found carrying the original image with the caption “Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives a thumbs up to healthcare workers at Delhi’s RML Hospital today morning as India crosses one billion COVID19 vaccinations”. The person in the original image did not use her middle finger to show an obscene gesture, instead, she is seen waving her hand at Modi.
The original image is found tweeted by the Times of India, Amit Shah and other pages on 21, October 2021. Amit Shah shared it with the caption “We did it”, and a ‘vaccine century’ hashtag. A photo taken at RML hospital, Delhi when Modi was showing a thumbs-up gesture with both his hands and the healthcare workers waving at him is edited to tarnish Modi’s name.
Youturn fact checked some of the other photos of Modi that are not real, and published articles on the same.
It is found that the photo of Modi where a person is seen using her middle finger to show an obscene gesture at Modi is photoshopped and fake. The person in the original photo taken in 2021 is seen waving at Modi.
