What is the truth?
When reverse-searching the viral image and searching with relevant keywords we found that the image is edited.
An article dated 30, June 2021 by Indian Express is found carrying an image similar to the viral image. This image shows the then President Ram Kovind paying tribute to Ambedkar along with Yogi Adityanath during the foundation stone laying event for Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Cultural Centre in Lucknow.
A video uploaded on the ‘President of India’ Youtube channel in June 2021 with the title “President Kovind lays foundation stone of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial & Cultural Centre at Lucknow” is found carrying the matching visual at 1:42 minute timestamp. The video shows people including Ram Kovind and Yogi Adityanath paying tribute to Ambedkar.
The Facebook page of Yogi Adityanath posted the original version of the viral image on 29, June 2021 with the caption in Hindi roughly translated as “Under the inspiration and guidance of respected Prime Minister, Panchteerth was established to keep alive the memories of Babasaheb. Apart from India, the grand memorial of Baba Saheb built in England is a medium to take his memories and voice of India to the global level. The ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial and Cultural Center’, which is taking shape with the inspiration of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will preserve the memories of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.”
It is found that the viral image showing Yogi Adityanath paying tribute to Tipu Sultan is an edited image. The original image shows Yogi Adityanath paying tribute to Ambedkar in 2021 during the foundation laying stone event for ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial and Cultural Center’.
