Fake Rs.2000 token in the name of PMK MLA! Fake news that DMK member published that token!

A poster has been circulating on social networking sites claiming that “a Rs 2,000 token engraved with the mango symbol is distributed for the Salem West constituency PMK MLA election”.
The poster, which included a photo of Ramdoss, Anbumani Ramadoss, Edappadi Palanisamy and BJP MLA Arul Ramadoss. the poster states that “As promised you people are voted for me in the mango symbol and I won the election, so with that gratitude, we distribute token engraved with the mango logo for you and you can come to my home or office in person and you can buy groceries for that Rs.2000. ”
The poster has been virally shared on social media by political parties and members of political parties and ask the Election Commission to take action.
Fact Check:
When we contact Salem West constituency PMK MLA Arul Ramdoss about the viral poster, he said, “It is fake. No such token was issued. I cannot be answered for the defamation. ”
Also, the PMK MLA has lodged a complaint with the Salem Metropolitan Police Commissioner regarding the poster being made viral. In it, “Since yesterday (08.06.2021), false news has been spread on WhatsApp, claiming that I deliberately distributed tokens to the Salem West Assembly constituency and called to pay for it… I never said I would give token/money for election. I strongly condemn those who cannot tolerate my success for spreading such lies. I kindly request you to take appropriate action to find those who are involved in such activities. ”
Following this, another news card claims that “4 Salem District DMK officials were arrested for distributing tokens printed with fake mango logo to give Rs. 2000 for votes! The womens’ strikes at the DMK’s Salem West office. ”
This news Screenshot is shared on the page of MLA Arul Ramdas by 3 posts posted on behalf of the PMK supporters.
When we asked the digital section of News 7 Tamil about this they replayed that “This is fake news, no such news or post was tweeted by us like this…” and the sequence of characters in the screenshot, including the tag, that post does not look like News7’s usual posts.
Explanation
In our search, the poster circulating on social networking sites claiming that “a Rs 2,000 token engraved with the mango symbol is distributed for the Salem West constituency PMK MLA election” is fake. That PMK MLA also denied it and filed a police complaint regarding this issue.
Similarly, the screenshot of the Twitter news that “4 Salem District DMK officials were arrested for distributing tokens printed with fake mango logo to give Rs. 2000 for votes! ” spread in the name of News 7 Tamil is also a fake screenshot.
