On October 2, 2020, the Tribuneindia website reported that Nomi, a female police officer, was killed when an SUV crashed on her scooter near the village of Sangatpura.
SAD leader and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh was on his way to work near the Golden Temple. According to police, a female guard was killed on the spot when a speeding Mahindra Scorpio SUV collided with her scooter near Shagna Vehra and the accused fled the scene.
The body of the female guard was handed over to the family after the autopsy was completed and the funeral was held on October 1, according to the website bhaskar.com. The vehicle that caused the accident has been seized and a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Police say that person responsible for the crash absconded.
