Explanation

A video of a massive crowd is shared by several social media accounts including the ‘Indian National Congress – Maharashtra’ official page, Er Chandrasekar, DMK party, claiming that it was the crowd gathered during Bharat Jodo Yatra. Such posts can be seen here, here, here, here and here.

What is the truth?

When the video is watched closely, no flags were found unlike people from other gatherings held during Bharat Jodo Yatra.

When searching the keyframes of the video with google lens several unrelated massive gatherings were listed along with one related Youtube video titled ‘croud for pydimamba utsav sirumanu’.

This shorts was published on 12, October 2022 by the ‘Info Video by Rama’ Youtube channel.

With further search, found two more Youtube channels posting the same footage mentioning ‘Pydithalli Ammavaru Sirimanothsavam at Vizianagaram. These shorts can be viewed here and here.

When searching the keywords from the caption of the shorts, several news articles mentioned the festival. ‘The Hindu’ article dated 7, October 2022 mentions that the Sirimanotsavam is on 11, October 2022 in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. The viral posts were in circulation since 22, October 2022 claiming that the video was taken during the Yatra in Karnataka.

In order to reverify the video, news videos related to recent Pydithalli Ammavaru Sirimanotsavam were glanced at. The visuals from the videos of ‘Sakshi TV’ and ‘VPN Media’ published on 11, October 2022 match with the viral video.

Conclusion

A footage from Pydithalli Ammavaru Sirimanotsavam in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram is shared with false claim as a crowd gathered during Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka.
