What’s the truth?
We started our analysis with relevant keywords on Google and the viral video’s keyframes. This led us to the YouTube video of ‘Indian National Congress’ dated April 8, 2024. The video is titled “The Spirit of the Manifesto ” in our 5 Guarantees. Rahul Gandhi Congress Manifesto Nyay Patra.”
The video is from Hyderabad and lasts 16 minutes and 11 seconds. We heard the entire video and realized that the part that went viral was between 14:27 and 15:35 in the timing.
It’s also worth noting that a translator is audibly translating in Telugu, their native language, for the general public, line by line. He states “We will conduct an X-ray on the country and everything will become clear (doodh ka doodh aur paani ka paani ho jayega). Backward classes, Dalits, Adivasis, and people from the poor general class and minorities will get to know how much their participation in India is. After this, we will conduct a financial and institutional survey and find out in which class hands is India in. And after this historic move, we will take a revolutionary step. We will give what your right is.”
Further investigation revealed that Rahul Gandhi’s YouTube channel also has the same video live-streamed on April 6, 2024. Here, the viral segment begins at around the timestamp of 31:54.
This indicates that the widely shared video featuring Rahul Gandhi discussing solely minorities was edited and fake.
The original video above makes it quite evident that the viral version was modified and distributed with false narratives.
