Explanation

A video clip is shared widely on social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook with the claim that Rajasthan Muslim boys who went to Kashmir and raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were beaten up by Jawans. Some posts also claim that the boys shouted ‘they will not allow India to become a Hindu nation’, ‘long live Pakistan’ in Kashmir where it is not a jihadi government unlike Rajasthan’s Congress government to give complete freedom for their people to molest, rape and do Jihad, and hence ended up getting thrashed by Indian soldiers. Such posts can be seen here, here and here.

What is the truth?

This video clip was viral with the same claim a few months back. Youturn fact-checked and published an article in Tamil on the same on 6, February 2022.

The BBC Hindi Youtube channel published news on the incident related to the viral video on 25, February 2021 mentioning it as Delhi violence.

The description part is roughly translated as “Last year in the month of February there were riots in the country’s capital Delhi. During the riots, a video from North East Delhi went viral. In this video some injured people were lying on the road, who were being forced to sing the national anthem and Vande Mataram while being beaten. One of the injured youth Faizan had died. See what is the condition of his family after one year and what are the other victims saying now”.

The NDTV article dated 29, February 2020 reported that the five injured men lying on the road in the video were forced to sing National Anthem by the policemen and one of them named Faizan died three days after the incident.

Conclusion

It is found that the video clip from the 2020 Delhi violence was shared with false claims in February 2022 and has resurfaced again now. The claim that Rajasthan Muslim boys were beaten up in Kashmir for raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans is fake.
