What is the truth?
When reverse searching the keyframes of the viral video it is found that the video is from Bihar and not from Uttar Pradesh. ETV Bharat article dated 16, February 2023 is found carrying matching visual from the viral video mentioning it as ‘self-immolation during removal of encroachment in Patna’.
The Times of India article reports that Anilkumar, a shopkeeper sets himself on fire during an anti-encroachment drive on railway land in Patna. He is admitted to the hospital with 80% burns and his elder brother and nearby shopkeepers suffered injuries while extinguishing the flame.
The Times Now News article mentions that the incident took place in Gulzarbagh, Patna. It is reported that “The policemen arrived in the area accompanied by JCBs to clear the illegal encroachments that stood on railway land. They faced tough resistance from the shopkeepers who reacted violently to the police action”.
Conclusion
It is found that a video of a person self-immolated during an anti-encroachment drive in Gulzarbagh, Patna in Bihar is shared as from Uttar Pradesh blaming the CM Yogi Adityanath.
