What is the truth?
When translating the words seen in the viral video we found that the video is of Shobha Yatra by Kashmiri Pandits from Srinagar and not from Pakistan.
With further search, an article by Greater Kashmir dated 31, March 2023 titled “To commemorate Ram Navami, Kashmiri Pandits take out Shobha Yatra in Srinagar” is found with a matching visual from the viral video.
News 18 article dated 30, March 2023 titled “’Message of Peace’: Kashmiri Pandits Take Out Shobha Yatra on Ram Navami Amid Tight Security in Srinagar” is also found with a matching visual from the viral video. The article mentions that the number of Kashmiri Pandits taking part in the procession this year was fewer due to the fear of targeted killings, but those who took part said they were not afraid.
When searching with the words seen in the viral video, we found the viral video posted by VOA Urdu Facebook page on 30, March 2023 with the caption translated as “In Indian-controlled Kashmir on Thursday, Kashmiri Pandits staged a procession under tight security arrangements that reached their destination passing through different parts of Srinagar. Kashmiri Pandits take out the procession called ‘Shobha Yatra’ every year on the occasion of one of their religious festivals. Zubair Report from the Dar.”
