Social activist Kovan was attacked because of the conflict with liquor store staff while boozing with friends in Pondicherry.
Kovan, a folk artist and singer from the Makkal Art and Literature Association, was arrested for criticizing the Jayalalitha government for his song claiming to close Tasmac.
U2brutus news card claims that Kovan, a popular singer who sang “Close Tasmac” during the last regime, is attacked after a dispute while boozing with friends at a liquor store in Pondicherry.
What is the truth?
There was no news in the media that singer Kovan was attacked at a liquor store in Pondicherry. Therefore, we spoke to U2brutus channel admin, Minor, about the viral card, and he denied publishing it. Also, it was posted on the U2brutus Facebook page on May 14 that the claimed news card is fake.
In this regard, the Joint Secretary General of the Makkal Art and Literature Association said, “Our comrades, especially Comrade Kovan, are being slandered by spreading false news. In particular, Comrade Kovan has been misrepresented as having been boozing and having an altercation there, and this misinformation is spread all over social media. We would like to inform you that this is a lie spread by the ‘Kaavi’ and their supporters”.
It is a rumour circulating that social activist Kovan had been hit during a conflict with liquor store staff while boozing with friends in Pondicherry.
