A video clip of snow surrounded train journey is shared widely on Twitter and Facebook with the claim that it is from Himachal Pradesh. Posts with such a claim can be seen here, here, here, and here.

This video was shared by a Twitter user Siddharth Bakaria and later it became viral. He also replied that it is Shimla – Kalka toy train in Himachal when another user asked what train it is.

What is the truth?

When reverse searching the keyframes of the viral video, multiple similar images and videos were resulted out of which one website link is found carrying the video with matching visuals from the viral video.

This website pixabay has uploaded the video clip with general captions like train, snow, and Christmas. No other information related to the location is mentioned.

A tweet by Prashanth R Ujjalli from the comment section of the viral post is found with a couple of pictures quoting that the video is from Harz mountains, Germany.

The viral video is found matching with one of the pictures he posted. The word ‘Nichtraucher’ in Germany means ‘non-smoking’ and it refers to the non-smoking compartment of the train. The same word is also found in the pixabay video.

When searching with keywords from the above-mentioned tweet, we found another tweet dated 4, January 2023 carrying the viral video clip mentioning that it is from Germany and locations are quoted as Harz mountains and Neuschwanstein Castle.

Though the videos of snow surrounded Kalka-Shimla train journey from Himachal were viral and can be seen from the below tweet, this particular viral video shared by Erik Solheim is not from Himachal but from Germany.
