In many languages, information circulates on social networking sites, including Twitter and Facebook, claiming that Sudha Murty sells vegetables. In some social media posts, it is mentioned that Sudha Murty sells vegetables outside the Venkateswarar temple once a year.

The rumour that writer Sudha Murthy sells vegetables outside the temple one day every year is completely false. She does not sell vegetables and has been doing charity work for the temple voluntarily. They are creating and spreading a story of selling vegetables because she is surrounded by vegetables.
In an interview with the Bangalore Mirror on October 27, 2013, Sudha Murty said, “I visit the Raghavendra Swamy Temple in Jayanagar, Bangalore for three days every year to clean the kitchen area, wash the dishes, clean the cupboards and chop vegetables. Engaging in charitable work such as sweeping the yard. ”
He goes to the temple in Bangalore every year and does charity work with his assistants. Sudha Murty says that giving money is easy, but doing physical labor services is not like that.
