A video showing a dead person hanging from a balcony is widely circulated with the claim that the transgender was murdered and hanged by Bangladeshi Muslims. This video was shared with the same claim initially by Radharamn Das, Vice President of ISKCON, Kolkata and is amplified by others including Sagar Kumar Sudarshan News, a right-wing propaganda media. Both these accounts deleted the post later. However, the video along with the same claim has started circulating on Twitter and Facebook.

What is the truth?
We found a tweet dated July 5 by Gurgaon Police mentioning that “A message going viral on social media states that in Dharmapuri Sector-108, a Bangladeshi Muslim hanged a eunuch after brutally killing her in Taliban style. This is untrue.”
यह घटना 3 जुलाई 2023 की है जब थाना राजेंद्रा पार्क एरिया में रहने वाली प्रिया नामक किन्नर की सहेली ने पुलिस को सूचित किया था कि प्रिया ने बीमारी से तंग आकर आत्महत्या कर ली थी। इस पर थाना राजेंद्र पार्क द्वारा 174 CrPC की कार्रवाई की गई है। हत्या करने की बात असत्य है।

The tweet further states that “the incident took place on July 3, 2023, when a friend of a eunuch named Priya, living in the Rajendra Park area of the police station, had informed the police that Priya had committed suicide due to illness. On this, action under 174 CrPC has been taken by Police Station Rajendra Park. It is untrue that she was killed.”
Youturn reached Gurgaon Rajendra Park police station to know the veracity of the claim. They confirmed that the viral news is fake and that the transgender woman has died of suicide.
Conclusion
It is found that a video of a transgender woman’s body hanging from a balcony is shared with false communal claims that the person was invited, murdered and hanged by Bangladeshi Muslims in Gurgaon.
