When MK Stalin took over as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 7, he signed the file that the price of Avin milk would be reduced by Rs.3

In this context, the government of Tamil Nadu has issued an order on May 7 to increase the purchase price of milk at Rs.6 and reduce the selling price from 6 rupees to 3 rupees, this news has gone viral on social media, leading newspapers and channels.

According to the order issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu Dairy K. Gopal,

In the above order, the Government has issued an order raising the purchase price of milk and the selling price of milk from 19.08.2019 as follows. 

A. Purchase price: The current purchase price of a litre of cow’s milk has been increased by Rs. 4 per litre from Rs. 28 to Rs. 32. The current purchase price of a litre of buffalo milk has been increased by Rs.6 The selling price for all types of milk is fixed at Rs. 6 per litre.

2. In the interest of the public, the selling price of milk is carefully considered by the Government and the selling price for all types of milk is reduced from Rs. 6 to Rs. 3 per litre. The price reduction order will come into effect from the 16th.
3. The price reduction ordered in paragraph two above will come into effect from 16.05.2021.

So, the purchase price of milk was increased on 19.08.2019, the selling price for all types of milk was increased to Rs.6 Out of that 6 rupees, the government has reduced the price by 3 rupees on 16.05.2021.
