The above viral tweet was posted with a picture claiming Aamir Khan’s new movie which is going to be a biopic on Lala Amarnath directed by the famous director Rajkumar Hirani. This tweet is filled all over social media with similar claims which can be seen here and here. Come, let’s check the authenticity of this viral image poster.
What’s the truth?
When we started our research using the simple Google reverse image process, we came to know that, the image circulated with Aamir Khan was created by an AI artist with the username “wild. trance” and uploaded on his Instagram handle on 22 July 2023.
The Instagram post has been captioned as, “Unfathomable Fusion: The Oppenheimer Project” with an Indian star cast under Christopher Nolan’s direction would be a cinematic masterpiece, showcasing the brilliance of both Oppenheimer’s scientific mind and the talents of the Indian film industry.
Notably, the movie Oppenheimer was released on 21 July 2023 in India. And the artist has taken inspiration from the movie and has recreated it with the Indian actors as he mentioned in his caption of the post. Moreover, we were able to see the “Disclaimer” given by the user at the bottom of the post. In the post, they asked those who share to tag them in it.
Thus, its perfectly clear that here the AI artist has recreated one important character from the Oppenheimer movie namely “Leslie Groves” as “Aamir Khan” and it is not any announcement for the new movie of the actor. The social media users have used the AI-generated Aamir Khan image from the above cast of Oppenheimer and falsely shared with misinformation.
Likewise, we got a detailed article from India Today exclusively about this particular work of AI-generated Oppenheimer cast done by the same user @wild.trance which was published on 1 August 2023. It is stated in the article, “An AI artist used AI tools to envision what the star cast of Oppenheimer would look like if it was made in Bollywood.”
Thus, it is clearly understood that the above image is the work of an AI artist which was wrongly shared with misleading claims by the social media users.
Conclusion:
Therefore, we conclude that the above image of Aamir Khan with a claim of his new movie announcement is the work of an AI artist during the release of Oppenheimer movie in India.
