The Indo-Pak gunfire video is old from 2021 and not recent!

The video showing the Indo-Pak border situation has no links to the ongoing election of 2024.

The massive voting took place in six parts, on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25. India is getting ready for the seventh round of elections scheduled for June 1, 2024. The two main parties are actively campaigning against each other in this instance as part of their final round of campaigns.

In this instance, a 30-second video depicts an army camp where gunfire occurs continuously. The occurrence happens during the day. This post is shared stating, “The weather is changing quickly…Indo-Pak border may activate at any time.” A similar claim post can be seen here.

What’s the truth?

Starting with the keyframes from the viral video, we conducted our study utilizing the reverse image search method. This directed us to the “Ayudh Defence” YouTube channel.

This is an extended version of the same viral video, posted on August 9, 2021, with a timestamp of 48 seconds. The video is captioned as “Indian Army soldier firing 84mm Carl Gustaf Rocket launcher on Pakistani posts along LOC.” When we looked into the description box, it read, “Indian Army’s Sikh Infantry destroying bunkers & strongholds in a massive attack with Carl Gustaf 84mm RL at LOC.”

All of this data demonstrates and validates that the widely shared video depicting shooting in Indo-Pak is not new; rather, it is an old clip from 2021.

We therefore conclude that the film depicting gunfire at the Indo-Pak border and the assertion that it could recur at any moment about the current election are misleading. In reality, the widely shared video is outdated and has no connection with the ongoing election.
