The news card with the News24 logo survey is a digitally created fake!

News24 has refuted that story and labeled that card as fake

News24 survey news card shows: All 10 big satta bazaars are projecting a tough contest between Congress and BJP now, while few giving an edge to both. Although major opinion polls had predicted a landslide in favor of NDA, ground realities evidently suggest the contest was evenly matched. The last phase of voting is on the 1st of June and the results will be out on the 4th of June.

The massive voting took place in six parts, on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25. India is getting ready for the seventh round of elections scheduled for June 1, 2024. The two main parties are actively campaigning against each other in this instance as part of their final round of campaigns.

In this instance, we see a lengthy post with projected vote totals for each party and a news card bearing the News24 logo.

This post is shared with a claim stating, “Satta Bazar puts the NDA number below the majority marks of 272 and gives a near majority to the Congress-led INDIA alliance. Interesting…” You can view similar claim posts here and here.

What’s the truth?

Using pertinent Google keyword searches we initiated our investigation. This brought us to a tweet on May 29, 2024, posted by Manak Gupta, the executive editor of News24. His post was captioned, “FAKE ALERT: News24 hasn’t done any such story.”

We took this as a cue and used the reverse image search process on the available viral news card. This directed us to another tweet by Manak Gupta on X that included the same viral news card.

According to the post, “This fake news is being made viral in our name. News24 has not published any such story. Be careful”

All this information makes it clear that News24 has not done any such news card. This means the cards in circulation are digitally produced fake.

Therefore, we conclude that the widely circulated news card claiming that Satta Bazar places the NDA number below the 272 majority threshold and grants the Congress-led INDIA alliance a near majority is bogus. Actually, News24 has refuted the report and called it “fake.”
