What is the truth?

We ran a keyword search and found the original video posted on the Al Jazeera Mubasher official X handle on 24, November 2023. The caption of the post is translated as “I found her alive in the hospital…a touching scene of a Palestinian mother hugging her daughter warmly at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.” According to Al Jazeera Mubasher, this viral video was recorded on November 23 at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza. The original video is an extended version of the viral video.

The Palestinian mother is seen as shocked, and she cannot believe that her daughter is alive in the hospital, and then she warmly hugs her. Palestine supporters made this incident viral by linking it to the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel.

Though the incidents of Israel releasing Palestinians and their reunion with their families are true, this video is not related to it but shows the reunion of a mother-child duo separated in an Israel attack.
