The video of Chandrababu Naidu’s photo frame getting burned by people is old and from March 2024!

This video has no links to the recent government formation of NDA with the support of TDP

Chandrababu Naidu is facing opposition in Andhra Pradesh for supporting Modi despite the scorn from BJP.

In 2024, India held seven stages of general elections, which ran from April 19 to June 1. On June 4, the election results were announced. With the support of the TDP and JNU, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, which secured 293 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha, established the government. It’s noteworthy that Naveen Patnaik led JDU and current chief minister Chandrababu Naidu led TDP.

Here, a 33-second video depicts a gathering of individuals holding a portrait of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. They are shouting violently, and we can see that they are attempting to damage the picture frame with a stone. After some time, we watch people carrying the picture and tossing it into the roadside fire that is already blazing.

This post is shared with a claim stating, “Chandrababu Naidu is facing opposition in Andhra Pradesh for supporting Modi despite the scorn from BJP.” You can view similar claim posts here, here, here, and here.

What’s the truth?

We started our analysis with a relevant keyword search along with the keyframes of the viral video. This led us to an article by the News Meter dated March 29, 2024. The article is titled, “TDP flexes were burnt. What is happening in Anantapur Urban?.”

When we read the article, we learned that the Telugu Desam Party has unveiled its candidates for the upcoming elections for the Assembly and Parliament. Three of the MP candidates are newbies, except Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, an Ongole contender.

However, after years of hope, Prabhakar Chaudhary’s group finds it difficult to accept this decision. The Telugu Desam Party’s Prabhakar Choudhary faction is furious since they put in the most effort in the party’s numerous activities.

This means the video is from March before the election and it’s not related to the current electoral results.

We intensified our search and found another article by the Andhrajyothi covering the same incident on March 31, 2024. According to the article, “Former MLA Vaikuntham Prabhakar Chowdhary’s relatives continued their protests for the second day after TDP Anantapur Urban ticket was not allotted to him.”

In addition to it, the same video is found uploaded on ‘Samayam Telugu’ YouTube channel on 29, March 2024.

All of the material above makes it clear that the video showing Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s burned photo frame is dated March 2024 and is an outdated clip. Also, this has nothing to do with the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Therefore, we conclude that the widely circulated rumor that Chandrababu Naidu is encountering resistance in Andhra Pradesh for endorsing Modi despite the BJP’s derision is false and misleading.
