A picture of American-Hungarian businessman George Soros with a woman is making the rounds on social media. This image is shared with some Hindi-language infographics printed on it. Roughly translated, this can be understood as “The daughter of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India’s Congress Party government is in a compromising position with George Soros, who is working against Narendra Modi-ji in India. It is worth considering whether Manmohan Singh’s daughter has stooped so low in opposing the country.” In addition, a circle identifying the woman as Manmohan’s daughter and George Soros has been added to the picture.
The shared image claims that, “Who prepared George Soros, who spent money like water to defeat the Modi Government, for this? What is this relationship called?”

What’s the truth?
We began our study by performing a basic reverse image search on Google coupled with a pertinent keyword search. This directed us to an August 2012 Guardian piece that featured the same widely shared image. The image that went viral is titled “Billionaire investor George Soros with his fiancee Tamiko Bolton”.
As we read the article, we learned that George Soros announced his engagement to Tamiko Bolton, 42 years his junior, on his 82nd birthday.
Using this as a hint, we conducted additional research and discovered an August 2012 Business Insider article. The engagement pictures of George Soros were the only subject of this report. We have included an image from the article for the reader’s reference below.
Further investigation revealed that they were both married in a private ceremony at George’s estate in Bedford, New York in September 2013.
Likewise, we also searched for the Manmohan Singh daughter’s images using keywords on Google. Our search resulted in a September 2014 Indian Express story. This article covers the book launch event where former PM Manmohan Singh released a book authored by his daughter namely, ‘Strictly Personal.’
The aforementioned data both validates and elucidates that the widely circulated image does not depict Manmohan Singh’s daughter, contrary to what the viral allegation implies.
Conclusion:
Thus, we conclude that the viral image claiming that the daughter of former PM Manmohan Singh is with an American businessman George Soro is false and baseless.
The image was taken from a Guardian piece dated August 2012; the lady is George Soro’s wife Tamiko Bolton.
