The major voting took place over six days: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25. India is getting ready for its seventh round of elections, which is scheduled for June 1, 2024. The two major parties are now engaged in a fierce campaign rivalry as part of their final round of campaigns.

In this instance, social media users are sharing a video of News 24 anchor Manak Gupta reading the news. He also announces some breaking news about the results of the election, along with some forecasts. He goes on to add that, “The INDIA Alliance is predicted by the Today Chanakya exit poll to win 7 of the 6 seats in Delhi. Mahabal Mishra, hailing from West Delhi, is exhibiting great potential. Mahabal Mishra will receive 58% of the votes in West Delhi, while the NDA will receive 39% of the vote.”

This post is shared stating, “Mahabal Mishra’s clear wave is visible in the survey of the biggest media TV Today Chanakya. It seems Mahabal Mishra will win by 5 lakh votes.” Come, let’s check if the viral claims are true.

What’s the truth?

We began our investigation by searching Google with terms like “Chanakya exit polls of election 2024” and “Manak Gupta News24 survey.” We also utilized the simple reverse image search method on the viral keyframes. This directed us to the YouTube video of the show “Rashtra Ki Baat” hosted by anchor Manak Gupta on the News 24 channel. Here, we can see that the visuals are identical except for the anchor’s viral news.

Further searching turned up a tweet from anchor Manak Gupta claiming that the widely shared news footage was fake. In his post, he wrote, “This video of mine which is going viral is completely fake. My video has been taken from my show ‘Rashtra Ki Baat’ and my AI-generated voice has been inserted in it. All the graphics are also fake News24 – Today’s Chanakya has not released any such survey I am also surprised to hear my AI-created voice, it sounds absolutely real. This fake video is a new example of how dangerous such tools and Deep Fake can be. Be careful and ignore this video.” This means the viral video is not real news done by News 24.

Additional research revealed that Today’s Chanakya had tweeted the same viral video, debunking their claim that no exit polls of this kind had been conducted. In their post, they wrote “We have not released any Opinion poll on Delhi or any other state. All polls in our name are fake & do not belong to us.”

With the data above, it is evident that Manak Gupta’s popular opinion video is a fake, with artificial intelligence (AI) being utilized to create the illusion of a real voice.

Conclusion:

We therefore conclude that the widely circulated video, which claimed that Mahabal Mishra will win by five lakh votes in Delhi by Today’s Chanakya poll results today is deeply fake. Manak Gupta, host of News 24, and Chanakya Today has clarified, denied, and labeled the rumors as bogus.
