Description

In the video attached above, a woman continues to say, “My father was admitted to the hospital here. He died now because the hospital authorities restricted his usual pills but made him consume different ones. My father was under medication already for other medical issues..” Following this, a video of a man getting beaten hardly in the hospital plays continuously. Social media users shared these video and claimed that they all are the same video related to the Bangalore Oxford hospital issue.

Fact Check:

When we reverse search the video frames separately at the angle of suspicion that it looks like 3 separate scenes in different places, we came to know that it was a merge of the three different videos.

1. First Video – Oxford Hospital, Bangalore:

On 21st April 2021, a woman claimed that “My father was admitted to the hospital here. He died now because the hospital authorities restricted his usual pills but made him consume different ones. My father was under medication already for other medical issues.” This was covered by NewsFirst Kannada media and the video is attached below,

2. Second Video – Patiala City’s Private Hospital:

The incident took place on August 22, 2020 in Patiala, Punjab, where a man being treated for depression at a private hospital was severely beaten by the authorities there. Those involved in the incident were later arrested by the police and they have booked the accused under Section 323 and 342 of the Indian Penal Code, states Tribune India.

3. Third Video – Bangladesh:

This video was covered on ALT News, a fact-checking website, reported on 20th May 2020 states that “the video shows a son strangling his sick father with his bare hands is viral in Bangladesh. However, a YouTuber from Bangladesh said that according to her, the son was trying to force-feed medicine to his father. If one carefully watches the video, the elderly man’s hands are never near his neck. He either tries to close his mouth or push the man (maybe his son) using his hands.”

Explanation

However, the fact that these three separate videos are true, these three incidents happened at different time and different place. Some social media users merged these three videos into a single video and claimed that these scenes are linked to the incident that happened in Bangalore’s Oxford Hospital.
