It was in the news days back about the viral video of a TN government school teacher brutally beating up a student and about his arrest.
The chemistry teacher Subramanian (55), Chidambaram Nandanar Government Boys Higher Secondary school, Cuddalore has warned his 12th students for bunking the classes.
The teacher Subramanian then asked the students to kneel down, and thrashed a student and kicked him. This incident was captured as a video by fellow students in the classroom and shared on social media.
Based on the complaint lodged by a student, the teacher Subramanian was arrested by the police against 6 sections including Juvenile Justice Act read with Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Act. The teacher was suspended by the District Education Department, reported 15th October Maalaimalar.
“The student beaten up by the teacher Subramanian is being treated in the government hospital. The student belongs to SC and hence Cuddalore Adi Dravidar Deputy Collector of Welfare and Chidambaram Adi Dravidar Welfare Thasildar visited the school to investigate the incident. The teacher Subramanian was taken to the Judicial Arbitration Tribunal post-investigation, and he was lodged in the Chidambaram jail following the arbitration order”, reported BBC Tamil.
Meanwhile, two students were punished for wearing Rudraksha by the teacher Joyson in Anderson School run by a Christian missionary in Kanjipuram district. A complaint was lodged by their parents with the CM’s special cell, and this complaint is shared on Twitter by BJP Senior Leader H.Raja.

The Hindu Tamil reported, “The school committee has investigated the incident and has asked the teacher to submit his explanation. If the complaint lodged by the parents is true, then necessary action on the teacher would be taken, said the School Correspondent. The primary education officer Arulselvam said that they have investigated the incident on October 18”.
The said Hindi media merged this incident with the video and has published a piece of news.
Conclusion
Sudarshan News channel’s video that claimed that a TN government school student was beaten up by a Christian teacher for wearing a Rudraksha is fake news. The teacher’s name is Subramanian and the reason for thrashing the student is also fake.
