Full post: #awareness. Always have a bag of wheat flour in the kitchen and let everyone know where it is. Please do not delete without reading. A while ago, I boiled the corn. I poured a little cold water into boiling water to see if the corn was ready. By mistake, I dipped my hand in boiling water. A friend of mine who was a Vietnamese veterinarian came home. So when I screamed in pain, he asked if I had (wheat) flour at home. I gave a little, and he put my hand in the flour and told me to wait about 10 minutes. He told me that a guy was once burned in Vietnam. With fire and panic on him, someone poured a sack of wheat flour all over his body and tried to extinguish the fire. Not only was the fire extinguished, but there were also no burns on the boy. In my own case, I put my hand in the flour bag for 10 minutes and then removed it, after which I could not even see any red mark on the burn.

Today I have a bag of wheat flour in the fridge and I use the mixture every time I have thermal burns. Really cold flour is much better than being at room temperature. I once burnt my tongue and used flour on it for about 10 minutes. The pain stopped.

So always keep at least one pocket of wheat flour in your refrigerator. Flour can absorb heat and it has strong antioxidant properties. Thus, it helps if used within 15 minutes for a burnt patient. When someone shares a value that benefits you, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. So I share this with others.

Fact Check

What is the truth?

The viral post, which was spread on the advice of a Vietnamese veterinarian, has been translated from an English post and has gone viral in Tamil. In addition, our search revealed that the record has been viral on the Internet since 2011.

When asked about this, Dr. Praveen said, “Burns are divided into 3 types based on the injury. First Degree, Second Degree, Third Degree. First Degree is a common thing we encounter in the kitchen. Such injuries can cause pain and redness but are usually self-healing without any scarring. When a person has these types of burns they should be immediately exposed to water for 5 to 10 minutes. Once the area is cooled, it dries and heals automatically. No cream or antibiotics are needed if there are no signs of infection. Second degree and Third-degree burns can affect the deeper layer of the skin, causing scarring. In such cases, expose the wound in water immediately and go to the doctor.

Apart from this, flour, paste, butter etc. are being used as home remedies. Many people use it because they do not harm them. However, first-degree wounds go away without scarring, whether treated or not, but scars do occur to 2nd and 3rd-degree wounds. Soaking the wound in water for 5 to 10 minutes is the best first aid for small burns, not wheat flour. ”

On the advice of a doctor, we will know that applying wheat flour on burns is not the optimal action. Also, the miraculous wheat flour treatment story of a Vietnamese veterinarian has been circulating in many countries since 2011. The doctor’s advice is to use cold plain water for small burns. Do not test the unsubstantiated and bogus medical advice spread on social media as true.
