Explanation

A Puthiya Thalaimurai news card claiming that VCK Head Thirumavalavan said they are calling off the DMK alliance is viral on social media.

What is the Truth?

No news on Thirumavalavan’s comment on breaking the alliance was found. If that was true, it would have lead to debates and discussions.

When Puthiya Thalaimurai Facebook page is searched, we found a similar news card dated September 25, “Protest condemning the act of policemen on September 29 in major areas of the districts. Condemning the arrest of 15 VCK members for hoisting the party flag in Salem – VCK Head Thirumavalavan”, claimed.

On September 29, on the Twitter handle of MP Thirumavalavan, “Morur flag hoisting banned: Protests planned on September 30 in Salem and on October 1 in Madurai are getting postponed. This decision is based on the invite for discussion by CM Stalin after his two-day trip”, a post says.

The original news card with the news about the protest planned for September 29 is edited as if he has said about calling off the DMK alliance.

Conclusion

The news card claiming that Thirumavalavan said they are calling off the DMK alliance with a heavy heart is edited and fake.
