Explanation

A viral video is purporting on X (formerly Twitter) that a woman is feeding idols of Lord Krishna, and it is claimed that this woman is feeding non-vegetarians to the idols of Hindu god Krishna.

The same viral video is widely shared by social media users and can be seen here, here, and here.

What’s the truth?

When we watched the viral video closely, it looked like potatoes and not chicken. We ran a reverse image search using the keyframes of the viral video, and we found that the original video was posted on the Shampa Chakraborty YouTube channel dated November 22, 2023, but in this video we were not able to find what the woman was feeding the Lord Krishna.

Moreover, we started searching for more videos on the same YouTube channel, and we found another video posted on December 25, 2023. In this video, a girl from the same channel named Mouli Chakraborthy addresses the false claims about feeding chicken biryani to Lord Krishna.

She clarified that people were misusing her video and explained that her family has many idols of Laddu Gopal (Lord Krishna) and Radha Rani, whom they serve. She stated that the biryani in question was made of potatoes and paneer, and she was feeding rice with these ingredients to the deities. She also mentioned that they had uploaded 2-3 videos showing it was vegetable biryani made of potatoes and paneer.

According to this, we find out that in the viral video, the woman is not feeding chicken biryani (a non-vegetarian) to the Hindu god idols; it has been falsely shared to mislead the audience. In actuality, she is feeding vegetarian food.

Conclusion

The viral video of women feeding non-vegetarians to the Hindu god idols is false and misleading.
