What is the truth?
When searching for the video we found it posted on the ‘Simple Living on Thailand’ Facebook page on July 12. The post mentions that the video of the bridge collapse was captured by a motorist. He also mentioned that two were dead and several were injured when the bridge collapsed during peak hour in Bangkok, Thailand. We also found another post on Facebook carrying the same video mentioning Thailand.
With further search, we found a video on China Global Television Network (CGTV) Youtube channel reporting the bridge collapse incident. It is reported that the incident happened on July 10 in Bangkok, Thailand.
We could locate the places including the petrol station in the Youtube video as seen in the viral video. The Honda hoardings in the showroom building and petrol station seen in the viral video are spotted in the Youtube video.
The description part reads “Two people were crushed to death inside their vehicle when a bridge under construction collapsed in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district, Thailand shortly after 6 p.m. local time on July 10. An initial investigation found that a crane that was lifting the four-lane concrete road segment overturned, leading to the section crashing to the ground, local media reported.”
AP News reported that at least 2 were killed and 11 were injured in the incident. It is said that the elevated road had been under construction since 2020.
It is found that a video clip of a bridge collapse in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok, Thailand is falsely shared as India.
