When searching with relevant keywords, it is found that the video was old. The Times of India reported on its Facebook page on 22, June 2016 that Cristiano Ronaldo threw the reporter’s microphone into the lake.
The same video also can be seen published on the ‘Give Me Sport’ Facebook page on 22, June 2016.
The Guardian article dated 22, June 2016 reported that Ronaldo when under pressure after missing a penalty in a draw with Austria was approached by a reporter when he was out walking near a Portugal hotel. This is when the reporter asked him if he was ready for their game against Hungary and he reacted angrily, grabbed the reporter’s microphone, and threw it into the lake.
