A video of processing plastic is shared widely to claim that it is artificial wheat. The viral posts mention that there are already plastic Rice, Eggs, Butter, Fish, Mutton, Daals, and Cabbage and now it is plastic wheat. It is claimed that wheat is being adulterated with plastic grains. Some of the posts with such a claim can be seen here and here.

What is the truth?
When watching the video closely, we found ‘Smartest Workers’ watermark on it. When searching for it we found the viral video on a Youtube channel which revealed that it is of plastic recycling process and has nothing to do with wheat.
The Youtube channel ‘Smartest Workers’ uploaded the viral video on 24, September 2023 with the title ‘Plastic’s New Purpose: Unveiling the Recycling Journey’. A couple of comments in the comments section of the video mention that the plastic granules made from this plastic recycling process are used to manufacture new plastic products including toys and pens.

With further search, we found multiple videos that appear similar to the viral video mentioning that they are recycled plastic granules. The process carried out in these videos looks similar to the steps seen in the viral video. Some of the Youtube videos of plastic recycling process can be seen here and here.
