What is the truth?
When reverse searching the keyframes of the viral video and further searching with relevant keywords we found that the train has nothing to do with West Bengal. It is a special train arranged from Hyderabad to Karnataka’s Wadi to visit Halkatta Shareef.
We found a video with a train decorated with a green dome as seen in the viral video. This YouTube video was posted in 2017 with the title mentioning ‘Halkatta Shareef sandal and new dargah’.
It is found that Badesha Quadri, a saint who died in 1978 is entombed in Halkatta Shareef outside Wadi in Karnataka’s Gulbarga district. People travel to Halkatta Shareef for the death anniversary or ‘urs’ of Badesha Quadri every year. The south central railways (SCR) arranged special trains for the pilgrims visiting Urs-e-Shareef of Hazrat-e-Quadeer at Wadi from Hyderabad, reported The Hindu in 2004 and 2007.
We found a Facebook video posted a couple of days back by Gulbarga Times. This video is captioned ‘46th Urs e Quadeer Halkatta Shareef | Sandal Mubarak’. This video shows a train that looks similar to the train seen in the viral video.
The viral video shows one side of the train and the Facebook video shows the other side of the train. However, train number 13418, decorations including green dome, peacocks and bird appear to be the same in both videos. The station name ‘Moula Ali’ is written in Hindi on the train below the train number in the viral video and English on the Facebook video.
The Facebook video also shows a board on the train mentioning that it is ‘Urs Special’ and is from Hyderabad to Wadi.
It is to be noted that Indian railways arranged special trains for Char dham Yatra, Ramayana Yatra and Ganga pushkaralu festivals also.
Conclusion
It is found that a special train arranged by the railways for the pilgrims to visit Halkatta Shareef in Karnataka’s Wadi from Hyderabad is shared to falsely claim that it is a train to West Bengal.
