Explanation

Currently, 88 constituencies spread across 12 states and one territory are voting in the second round of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The second round of the dramatic election campaign came to a close on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

This 27-second video shows some automobiles and bikes going slowly on a muddy, pothole-filled road. For up to nine seconds during the video, there is an infographic titled “Assam Roads Then.” When the video reaches the tenth second, the infographic changes to “Assam Roads Now.” Here, we can see the gorgeous bridges and motorways with the new, smooth roads. This post is shared with a claim stating, “Assam’s roads – Before and after the Modi Government.” Come let’s check if the claim post is true.

What’s the truth?

Using each keyframe from the viral video, we began our investigation. If you examine the viral video closely, you’ll see that the orange car number (AS01DT6808) is flipped and posted in the fourth second.

Additionally, by looking through the RTO websites, we discovered that the vehicle in the video was registered in 2018. Furthermore, it is important to remember that the Assam state has been ruled by the BJP government since 2016.

The Pulsar 200NS appears next, around the fifth-second mark in the timeline. It’s interesting to note that this bike was only introduced in 2017. That refers to the time when Assam was ruled by the BJP.

Watch the remaining portion of the video to see the white Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, which made its debut in India on April 1, 2023. It is visible at the 8-second mark. This suggests that the BJP was in power in Assam throughout this time as well.

The aforementioned details elucidate that the widely circulated footage featuring cars traversing a muddy, potholed road does not depict Congress rule, contrary to what the viral allegation implies.

Conclusion:

We therefore conclude that the widely shared video, which purports to compare the roads of Assam before and after the Modi government, is untrue and deceptive. Because the cars in the video were only introduced when the BJP took power, it is actually during their administration.

The orange car’s license plate is flipped (blurry) and posted when you watch the video a little closer.
