Explanation

The viral 19-second video features a road with some moving cars on it. In the footage, massive high-rise structures can be observed. Abruptly, the name “CEAT” appears on a visual screen close to the tall skyscrapers. As it happens, the walls of the tall structure turn into a visual screen that displays a cricket bat with the “CEAT” brand on it. A few men recorded this dramatic turn of events with their cell phones. While writing this article, the video had garnered about 1.6 million views.

This post is shared with a claim stating, “Strange scene seen next to our office in Mumbai.”

Come, let’s check if the viral claims are true.

What’s the truth?

A Google reverse image search study of the viral video’s keyframes showed that it was first uploaded on the YouTube page CEAT_Tyres_India on March 17, 2024.

The video’s description box read “Finals tonight! Strategic Timeout will define turning moments in the game.” Along with the text, the video included hashtags like #CGI and #StrategicTimeout.

This led to the discovery that their advertisements were produced using “Computer-Generated Imagery,” or CGI.

CGI technology is typically categorized as a sub-category of VFX (visual effects) technology. It can produce realistic-looking 2D and 3D scenes as well as animations. Many industries, including real estate, architecture, science, engineering, medical, advertising, and entertainment, employ computer-generated imagery (CGI) extensively.

Thus, we may confirm that the viral video is a CGI advertisement made by the CEAT corporation and is not authentic.

Previously, some of the advertisements were the subject of incorrect reports on social media. We have done the research and written articles about it for our page.
