In an attempt to free their nation’s hostages, Israeli security forces recently launched an attack on the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza. In the raid, the Israeli army claimed to have freed four hostages.
However, Gaza officials report that the operation has resulted in hundreds of injuries and at least 274 Palestinian deaths, including civilians and military officers.
In this case, a 21-second video is going viral on social media claiming that Palestinians are pretending to be in the war to gain sympathy for Palestine. It shows a young man lying on the ground covered in blood, smiling, looking up, and lying down again.

What’s the truth?
By using Google’s reverse image search to analyze the keyframes of the widely shared video, we were able to locate an article from The Intel Drop website that claimed that the “Israeli army massacred over 200 civilians while retrieving hostages from Gaza” on June 8.
There were plenty of videos uploaded there that resembled the one that went viral. Recent Israeli military activities in Gaza were shown in each video. However, every scene was brutal.
A closer look at the video that has gone viral shows the young man writhing in pain after being hit on the head and bleeding profusely, and a bystander immediately renders first aid to him. The video also clearly shows a child lying dead next to the youth.
Many more in the same room are observed to be impacted like these two, and some are seen transported to the hospital with serious bleeding injuries. But this video is being misrepresented by many individuals in an inhumane way.
